TYPE “A” RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

This is a two-storey building with an inside single-flight staircase leading to the second floor. It is a one-family house: there are a spacious living room with open cooking, dining, and rest areas and one bedroom on the first floor. There is a so called ‘sunny room’ belonging to the dining area, which is a recreational place connected with the outside balcony. The access to the bedroom is from the living room through an antechamber to which a bathroom with fixtures opens. Three independent bedrooms with separate bathrooms are arranged on the second floor which is designed as an under roof area. A storeroom/closet is arranged to one of the bathrooms in view of the optimum space utilization. From the second floor, the single-flight staircase continues to the usable part of the attic which will be used for storage.

CONSTRUCTION RESOLUTION
All buildings have been completed by a monolith reinforced concrete structure and brick walls, and the external surfaces of façade walls will be coated by efficient thermal insulation, 6 cm thick. The roof structure will be of monolith reinforced concrete plate in the usable part and wooden structure in the not usable part. It is covered by ‘BRAMACK’ type bricks on a lath coating. A thermal insulation being 8 cm thick, and in the interspace insulation – 4 cm will be put on the reinforced concrete covering structure and on the flooring on the first floor.

FAÇADE RESOLUTION
The buildings will be completed as façade of woodwork of high quality, and the thick parts are of coating with ceramic material and mineral plaster, the railings are a combination of thick and net parts.

Kavarna is one of the ancient towns on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. First it was situated nearer to the sea but after an eartquake in I c. B.C. the old town Byzone has been partly drawned into the sea and later, in Roman times, it was rebuilt at a new place, 3 km inland. During the times of the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdom it was the administrative centre of Dobrudja.
